Rusty metal wound Toenail

Asked for Male, 21 Years

When i was 10 year my toe nail cut by stainless steel ( farming tool), but i don't take any tetanus vaccine does it affect me now. i am worried about it now bcz same toenail my infection by ingrown toenail which not healing from 1 month after taking medicine ( amoxicillin capsule and diclofenac sodium and paracetamol tablets) almost 1 week.

Tetanus has nothing to do with this. I suggest you get a minor surgery done for ingrown toenail. Visit a dermatologist or a general surgeon in your area

Hi. 1. Ingrowing toenail occurs because of the way our nail-bed and the underlying bone are formed. Tight fitting footwear contribute to the effect; an old injury is very unlikely to. 2. Tetanus doesnot cause local pus, that too after 10 years. 3. The only permanent soultion for ingrowing toenail is a small surgery to reduce the width of nail-bed. Can can done as an OPD procedure under local anesthesia. Hope this helps.
