Hello..depending on the severity of the complaints of the patient and the extent of adenoid hypertrophy(bigger size)doctors usually suggest surgical management..Medicines are prescribed when the size of the adenoid is not that huge..If your child has severe mouth breathing, snoring frequent episodes of cold and fever your doctor might have planned for surgery ..

Imran, Adenoid Hypertrophy is a disease of childhood and if it is causing an airway obstruction (if child snores loudly while sleeping or causes frequent bedwetting), your child must get operated upon. However, please select the ENT Surgeon carefully and it is best(safest technology) done using a Coblation Wand. This costs a bit more, but your child is definitely worth it!
