I’ve had a burning sensation on the right side of my throat for the past 2 weeks. It gets worse when I smoke cigarettes. I started smoking in December 2025.
For medication, I’ve been taking:
Bactoclav 625 mg (Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg)
Zerodol SP (Aceclofenac + Paracetamol + Serratiopeptidase)
Pantop D capsule (Pantoprazole + Domperidone)
I have been taking these medicines for more than a week, but I am not getting any relief.
When I touch my throat from the outside, I don’t feel any pain. But internally, there is a burning sensation. This is not acid reflux

If you just have burning sensation and no pain or fever it is most likely non infective. So there is no role of antibiotics that you are taking . Burning in throat can be due to various causes, smoking is one of them.
Next Steps
So I would recommend that you try and quit smoking
Continue taking Pan D empty stomach every morning for next week. Try to bring in some lifestyle changes like:-
- avoid late night meals
- try to walk after meal and maintain a gap of atleast 1 -1.5 hrs between food intake and lying on bed
- increase your water intake
- avoid all sorts of spicy/ deep fried food/ excessive tea-coffee
Health Tips
Just bringing in these lifestyle changes may help you with your condition and hence dependence on medication.
