Rodent bite
My 5 month baby was bitten by a big rat on his palm while sleeping at home.bleeding spot was also present at that time but now no bleeding is there n just a pin mark is present at the site.consulted pediatrician online n was suggested to get rabies vaccination by nearby pediatrician.Contacted nearby pediatrician for the same but was told that rabies vaccination is not required in rodent bite.Again contacted another pediatrician,he said rabies is not caused by the rodent .kindly guide if rabies vaccination is required in rodent bite or not?

Usually not required. A case has not been reported till now.
But both the dr r right since books says it’s can be transmitted so some go for vaccination while other deny.
