At 29, ASO is of no significance. ASO indicates rheumatic fever or arthritis in children and is positive throughout life. This patient is suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis probably. Additional problems like osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Diabetes, Thyroid issues and hypovitaminosis D may coexist. In case of extreme pain, and highly active RA , biologics can be tried. Otherwise, Sulfosalazine, Hydroxychloroquine and Methotrexate control the disease process in many cases. In advanced cases, maintaining joints in functional position is important.
