A weight gain of 43–47 grams per day at 3 months of age is within the expected range for healthy infants. Generally, for the first 3–4 months, babies gain about 20–30 grams per day, and formula-fed babies may be on the higher side of this range. With a birth weight of 2900 grams, your baby's current progress appears appropriate, and there is no cause for concern based on the information provided.
Next Steps
Continue to monitor your baby's daily feeds, wet diapers, and overall activity levels. Schedule regular pediatric checkups to ensure continued healthy growth and track development milestones. If you notice any issues such as poor feeding, vomiting, lethargy, or not achieving developmental milestones, please reach out sooner.
Health Tips
Always follow the formula mixing instructions and avoid overfeeding. Keep your baby's vaccination schedule up to date. Track your baby’s weight and development, but remember that individual variation is normal. If your baby displays signs of dehydration (very few wet diapers, dry mouth, excessive sleepiness), or persistent vomiting, seek medical attention without delay. If you have ongoing concerns or the baby’s symptoms worsen, please schedule a consultation so we can provide tailored care.
