I understand your concern. Hair fall and thinning can have many causes. In your case, since you are a young female, iron deficiency is often a common reason. Iron is very important for healthy hair, so this should be ruled out first. It is also important to check if there is any local infection on the scalp. You should get your hemoglobin level and iron profile teste.
Next Steps
For hair health, nutrients like iron, zinc, vitamin C, and selenium are very important. You can take these as supplements or include them in your diet naturally.
Health Tips
Since you mentioned that this has been going on for about a year, I strongly recommend consulting a doctor for proper evaluation and guidance.

We need to find the cause of the hairfall first . You may need to get a CBC , iron profile, serum vitamin D and B12 levels. And then consult a dermatologist or a physician
Next Steps
In the mean time you can follow these :- 1- avoiding washing her hair more than 2 times a week 2- using a microfibres towel instead of a cotton one 3- not to keep oil in her hair for more than an hour 4- topical serum containing Redensyl, capitulation, procapil. (wishcare hair growth serum , ordinary multipeptide serum etc) 5- A well balanced diet (with protein , omega and vitamin C and B complex)

Treatment depends on underlying cause, which requires good history and clinical evaluation along with relevant tests. Common causes are recent infections like viral fever, typhoid, protein deficiency General malnutrition,  dandruff, scalp infections. I would advise her to consult a dermatologist physically .

Hair loss for one year with visible thinning is not just cosmetic and should be evaluated properly. In women, the most common causes are nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, chronic stress, thyroid issues, and iron deficiency. Stress itself can worsen and prolong hair fall, creating a vicious cycle. The good news: most causes are reversible once identified. ⸻ Most Common Causes to Rule Out • Low ferritin / iron deficiency (very common in women) • Vitamin D deficiency • Vitamin B12 deficiency • Thyroid imbalance (TSH) • Chronic stress / telogen effluvium • PCOS or hormonal imbalance (if periods are irregular)
Next Steps
Basic Blood Tests • CBC • Serum FerritinVitamin DVitamin B12TSH Hair treatment without correcting these will not work.
Health Tips
Nutrition • Adequate protein daily (eggs, dairy, legumes, nuts) • Iron-rich foods (green vegetables, dates, jaggery) • Fruits and vegetables for micronutrients Hair Care • Avoid tight hairstyles, heat styling, and harsh shampoos • Use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo • Do not oil aggressively or scratch scalp Supplements • Start supplements only after blood tests • Random hair vitamins often waste time and money ⸻ Stress Management (Very Important) • Chronic stress alone can cause severe hair shedding • Proper sleep, light exercise, and reassurance help recovery

Chronic diffuse hair loss in women is commonly telogen effluvium or androgenetic alopecia, often associated with iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, or nutritional/vitamin deficiencies, and requires CBC, serum ferritin, TSH, vitamin B12/D levels, and dermatology evaluation.
