Receeding gums are result of past experience of periodontitis.It is good that you have got your oral prophylaxis done.

It is important to clinically check if you have gum pockets and the pocket depth. Depending on that there are different treatments. But if receding gums are due to a traumatic bite then treatment has to be accordingly
