Rat bites are generally considered very low risk for rabies. Rodents like rats rarely transmit rabies to humans, and in India, ARV is not routinely recommended for rat bites. That said, do wash the wound well with soap and water immediately, and make sure your tetanus vaccination is up to date. Watch the wound for signs of infection like redness or swelling.

Rat bite may causes rabies provided it’s been infected with rabies.
Following rat bite,symptoms like - fever, vomiting, etc can happen. Due rat dropping known as leptospirosis
However if not experiencing any of the above. Do nothing
Anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) is generally not required for rat bites. Rats and other small rodents (like mice, squirrels, and hamsters) are extremely rare carriers of rabies, and transmission.
