If you have no symptoms of rabies in 3 years do not worry. Dog who are suffering from rabies can only transmit to human after biting. Dog will die within 10 days, mainly street dogs. So close watch on dog is necessary for atleast 15 days. If dog is healthy so it has not been suffering from rabies. Mostly domestic dogs are pre vaccinated for rabies, so biting from them usually doesn't cause rabies. The period between infection and the first symptoms (incubation period) is typically 1–3 months in humans. This period may be as short as four days or longer than six years, depending on the location and severity of the wound and the amount of virus introduced. Initial symptoms of rabies are often nonspecific such as fever and headache.
