Touching a healed or dry bite site carries negligible risk if no fresh saliva or visible contamination was involved. Using a bandage that had no visible saliva or blood contamination is unlikely to pose any threat. A booster is only needed if: You have a fresh exposure of a bite, scratch, or saliva into mucosa/wound It's been more than 6 months to a year since last vaccination
Next Steps
If there was visible contamination of the bandage with saliva or blood and you applied it over a fresh, bleeding wound, consult a physician for safety.
