Query regarding vaccine and immunity
Hello Doctor, This year, due to repeated suspected exposures, I have already taken 17 rabies vaccine doses. My concern is: Will taking so many doses in a short period make my B cells and T cells weaker against rabies virus for long time? Or will these repeated doses help in building strong long-term immune memory and safety against rabies? Only I want to know that I am safe for long time against rabies or not…????? Kindly guide.

Follow the protocols. Take advice from the causality medical officer whenever you visit for your rabies shots. They'll guide you.

Extra doses of anti rabies vaccine can provide immunity for about only 1 to 2 years. There is no extra benefit of taking extra doses of antirabies vaccine.  2 booster doses can be taken, if bitten again, after a full course of vaccine.

Hii This many amount of doses is generally not required For one exposure we give either 4/5 doses If a patient gets bit within 3 months of last dose usually either no dose/1 booster dose is required thats it . So dont worry u are protected Excess vaccination does not help you build a strong immunity its a myth Kindly follow the protocols given by the treating doctor Hope this helped you Thank you

I can't imagine any qualified doctor could have suggested 17 ARV despite multiple exposure. Don't ever take these types of vaccine on your own. You are safe as of now and if the regime of ARV has been proper then maximum immunity will be upto 1 year from last dose

17 is too much and unnecessary. You should just follow normal protocol under doctor’s guidelines. Reach out for further assistance.

Hello Sir, Seventeen rabies vaccine doses is far more than required — but don’t worry, it will not make your immunity weaker. Repeated doses don’t give extra long-term protection; what matters is completing the correct schedule, after which your body already develops strong immune memory. You are safe, and no further doses are needed unless you have a new high-risk exposure in future. For free consultation, save my number and you can contact me on WhatsApp at nine one one nine two five five six nine nine.
