Firstly, don't be upset about psoriaisis. If a qualified dermatologist has diagnosed you with this condition - firstly accept it. It is not to run away from psoriasis but to keep it at bay; that is treat psoriasis sufficiently enough that symptoms don't bother you and that you can lead a normal lifestyle socially and professionally.
Some general measures for psoriatic patients include:
1. Keep skin moisturized on a day to day basis. Use a bland moisturizer.
2. Avoid triggers that worsen - different people have different triggers including weather changes / stress/ certain medications.
3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle - including good balanced diet with good amount of dietary fibre; and regular exercises . Maintain an ideal BMI
4. See a qualified dermatologist for prescription of medications according to your severity of disease.
5. DO NOT KEEP RUNNING FORM ONE DOCTOR TO ANOTHER / ONE TYPE OF OR SYSTEM OF MEDICINE TO ANOTHER. This ends up causing more mental agony!
Hope this helps. Warm regards. Dr Govind Suresh Mittal, Bengaluru.
