Protecting my liver
Dear Doctors, I am beta thalassemia minor, hypothyroidism patient. Off late I have been having high bilirubin of which indirect is 5.76. I have gallstones. Recent symptoms are Fatigue, stressful buildup of body muscle, hard breathing, uncomfort in abdominal and chest bones often painful since 1.5 months. I also understand hemolysis is constant process in thalassemia patients and high indirect bilirubin is a result of it. I used to take folic acid tablet and cyanacobalamin injection but missed this in last few years and again started now. What should be done to keep my liver in good shape and good health in long run? How to ensure my blood purification process / metabolism is optimal? Your suggestions awaiting. Sincerely,

The best would be to have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables . Keep yourself rehydrated with plenty for fluids. Also there are some special formulations for liver . Do continue your folic acid regularly
