Burning at the upper back
I feel burning sensation at the upper back sometimes right side and left side. Indigestion is there since last 2 days and burning 15 days. Stools are hard but in normal colour. Recommend test other than endoscopy to rule out the cause

Hello. I have reviewed your symptoms regarding the burning sensation in your upper back and your recent indigestion. While burning in the back can sometimes be muscular, its occurrence alongside indigestion suggests it may be related to acid reflux (GERD) or a similar digestive issue where pain is felt in the back area. 1. Recommended Diagnostic Tests Since you wish to avoid an endoscopy, the following non-invasive tests can help rule out common causes: Barium Swallow: An X-ray imaging test that can identify structural issues or severe reflux in the esophagus and stomach. Urea Breath Test or Stool Antigen Test: To check for H. pylori infection, a common cause of persistent indigestion and acidity. Ultrasound of the Abdomen: To rule out gallbladder issues (like gallstones), which often cause referred pain in the upper back or shoulder blades. 2. Lifestyle and Dietary Advice Manage Constipation: Increase your intake of fiber-rich foods and water to help soften your stools. Acidity Control: Avoid spicy, oily, or very late-night meals. Try sleeping with your head slightly elevated to see if the back burning improves. Next Steps I recommend consulting a Gastroenterologist. They can evaluate your symptoms and determine which of these non-invasive tests is most appropriate for your specific case.

"A burning sensation in the upper back—especially when paired with indigestion and hard stools—is a classic presentation of Referred Pain from the Upper GI tract. Acid reflux or a peptic ulcer can irritate the diaphragm or the nerves surrounding the esophagus, sending 'false' pain signals to the shoulder blades and upper back. At 30, this metabolic and digestive strain is often the result of chronic acidity or a slow-moving digestive tract

Health Tips
your back pain is likely a 'shadow' of what’s happening in your stomach. Book a consultation so we can run a breath or stool test to find the cause of your acidity and get your digestion back on track without needing an endoscopy right away."
