Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician (Ex Govt Medical Officer at RML Hospital, New Delhi), and your case has been allotted to me. Thank you for sharing your symptoms. I understand your concern. Based on your description of burning sensation after food along with discomfort and cough, this is most likely related to acidity or GERD (acid reflux). Sometimes this burning can be felt in the chest or even radiate towards the back. At present, this does not appear to be an emergency if there is no severe chest pain or breathlessness. ⸻ What you should do now • Avoid spicy, oily, and outside food • Do not lie down immediately after meals • Eat small frequent meals • Reduce tea, coffee, and smoking if applicable ⸻ Medicines that can help • Take a PPI (like esomeprazole) before breakfast • Antacid syrup can give quick relief ⸻ When to consult a doctor immediately • If pain becomes severe or pressure like • If there is breathlessness or sweating • If symptoms persist despite medication ⸻ Important reassurance These symptoms are very commonly due to acidity and improve well with simple lifestyle changes and short term medication. ⸻ For personalised treatment and proper medication plan, you can reach out to me directly on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven. Wishing you quick relief. Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

Probably gastritis and acid reflux also may cause cough.Change lifestyle 1.avoid  eating full stomach and don't drink water immediately after food and don't lie down immediately after food 2.avoid spices 3.regular exercise and if overweight then weight reduction may help. 4.can take antacid tablet like digene or pantop 40 for few days if you don't have any other problems or taking other medicines
Next Steps
Better to consult (video or local clinic)
