I am a 31-year-old female. I have had a few small skin-colored bumps on my arm for around 1 year. They are clustered and have not gone away.
Recently, one of the bumps has become swollen, red, painful, and developed a pus in the center. The surrounding area is inflamed and tender.
Since the bumps have been present for a long time and now one has become painful, I want to understand the cause and proper treatment.

Hi there..
Appears to be a clasical Molluscum Contagiosum infection which is a viral infection.
There is a secondary bacterial infection in one or two that may need an antibiotic cover but all have to be removed either through a minor surgical intervention on out patient (OPD) basis.

Hello! Thank you for describing your concern so clearly—this really helps.
Based on your history of long-standing, small, skin-colored clustered bumps with a recent episode of one becoming red, painful, and pus-filled, the most likely possibilities are:
1) molluscum contagiosum
Next Steps
Do not squeeze or pick the lesion (this can worsen infection and cause scarring)
• Apply warm compresses 2–3 times a day to help natural drainage
• Use a topical antibiotic (like mupirocin/fusidic acid) if available
• If pain or swelling is significant, you may need oral antibiotics prescribed by a doctor
