Your symptoms are classic for Plantar Fasciitis — the most common cause of heel pain, especially when:
✅ Pain starts after using new shoes
✅ Pain is worst in the morning when you take your first steps
✅ Pain is near the left heel
(Walking, long standing, or hard soles worsen it)
This happens due to inflammation of the ligament (plantar fascia) under the heel.
⭐ Why it happens
Shoes with poor cushion or hard soles
Sudden increase in walking
Flat feet or high arch
Tight calf muscles
Overuse/long standing
⭐ What you should do (Most effective home treatment)
✔ 1. Change or correct your footwear
Use soft cushioned shoes only
Add heel pads/soft silicone heel cushion
Avoid flat or hard footwear
✔ 2. Morning stretching (Very important)
Do this before getting out of bed:
Plantar fascia stretch
Sit on the bed
Pull your toes upward toward your shin
Feel the stretch in the heel
Hold 20–30 sec
Repeat 3–5 times
Calf stretch
Stand facing a wall
Keep one leg behind
Lean forward
30 seconds × 3 repeats
✔ 3. Ice treatment
Apply ice to heel × 10–15 min
2–3 times daily
✔ 4. Medicine (Safe options)
If pain is more:
Tab. Paracetamol 500 mg when needed
OR Tab. Aceclofenac + Paracetamol (after food) × 3–5 days
(Avoid if you have gastric issues)
✔ 5. Avoid these for 2–4 weeks
Barefoot walking on hard floors
Running
Long walks
New or tight shoes
⭐ If symptoms last more than 3–4 weeks
Consider:
Physiotherapy (ultrasound therapy)
X-ray foot (to check heel spur)
Orthopedic consultation
Just one question to confirm:
📌 Is the pain located under the heel (like a sharp stab) or behind the heel/Achilles?

Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. Heel pain that becomes worse in the morning and started after using new shoes is a very common pattern. This usually indicates strain on the heel fascia, commonly known as early plantar fasciitis.
Advices
1 Change or soften your footwear. Hard soles or new shoes without proper cushioning often trigger heel pain.
2 Do simple stretching exercises for the calf and foot first thing in the morning to reduce stiffness.
3 Apply warm water compression to the heel in the evening to relax the tissues.
What to Monitor
1 Increasing pain when taking the first few steps after waking up.
2 Pain radiating towards the arch of the foot.
3 Swelling or redness near the heel.
Management
This condition is often due to inflammation of the heel tissue from improper footwear or sudden increase in walking. You may use a heel cushion or soft silicone insole to reduce pressure.
For pain, a mild anti inflammatory gel can be applied externally two to three times a day.
If the pain persists, then a short course of oral medicine may be required. After knowing your activity level and any previous foot issues, I can guide you with the exact medicine and exercises.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
1 Severe swelling or inability to bear weight.
2 Numbness or tingling in the foot.
3 Pain that continues to worsen even after changing footwear.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss your walking routine, type of footwear and exact pain location in detail.
You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive
