geographic tongue is not a serious condition. It is not related to Vitamin D. It can be seen with nutritional deficiencies, so eat a balanced diet avoid spicy foods if irritation is there.no need to worry ,stay hydrated, and you can go for a walk in morning sunlight.

Unlikely. You can get liver and kidney function tests done to clear any doubt.
Please share details of geographical tongue, it's onset, duration, progress.
Hello,
Your Vitamin D level of 9.3 ng/ml indicates severe Vitamin D deficiency, so supplementation is necessary.
Taking Vitamin D3 60,000 IU on alternate days for about 2 weeks is sometimes prescribed in severe deficiency and usually does not cause kidney or liver damage when taken for a short duration.
Vitamin D toxicity is rare and generally occurs only when very high doses are taken for several months, leading to high calcium levels in the blood.
Geographical tongue is a benign and common condition and is not related to Vitamin D intake or overdose.
What you should do now:
• If the 15-day course is completed, stop the alternate-day dose.
• Continue Vitamin D3 60,000 IU once weekly for 6–8 weeks.
• Get blood tests after 6–8 weeks: Serum Vitamin D, Calcium, and Creatinine.
• Ensure adequate sunlight exposure and a balanced diet.
Based on the information you provided, kidney or liver damage is very unlikely.
If you develop symptoms such as persistent vomiting, excessive thirst, frequent urination, or severe weakness, consult a physician for evaluation.
Regards.
Vitamin D level 9.3 ng/mL indicates severe deficiency. Taking Vitamin D3 60,000 IU on alternate days for a short duration (about 2 weeks) is sometimes used for rapid correction and is unlikely to harm the kidneys or liver in an otherwise healthy person. Geographic tongue is usually benign and not directly caused by vitamin D therapy.
Next Steps
• Stop high-dose therapy if the course is completed.
• Repeat serum Vitamin D after 6–8 weeks.
• Start maintenance dose: 1000–2000 IU daily or 60,000 IU once monthly if advised by a doctor.
• Ensure adequate sunlight exposure (15–20 min/day).
Health Tips
• Vitamin D toxicity usually occurs only with very prolonged high doses.
• Maintain adequate hydration and balanced diet.
• If symptoms like vomiting, excessive thirst, weakness, or kidney stone symptoms occur, consult a doctor and check serum calcium and creatinine.
Please stop vitamin D right away. get your vitamin D levels, KFT, LFT, PTH done. Hydrate yourself. It’s a fat soluble vitamin, takes time, if it too high, you will need meds may be. But in case of severe headache etc, please consult.
You are talking about vitamin d overdose ,then you stop vitamin d3 tablet. Its called hypervitaminosis.so stop the tablet of vitamin d3 and your symptoms may be reversed in 10 to 15 days.
Ideally Vitamin D 60000 unit tablets should be taken once a week for 6 weeks followed by once a month for 6 months in case of deficiency.
Consuming alternate day for 15 days might increase calcium and phosphorus levels in the body which might in turn injure the kidney.
Next Steps
stop vitamin D and calcium supplements.
hydrate adequately
kindly check serum calcium, phosphorus, creatinine, vitamin D levels and review with a local doctor .
Health Tips
watch for symptoms of hypercalcemia such as abdominal pain, nausea , bone pain, increased urination.
Hello.
Based on what you described, your vitamin D level of 9.3 ng/mL indicates deficiency, which can sometimes be associated with fatigue, oral changes like geographic tongue, or general weakness.
This may occur due to low sunlight exposure or dietary deficiency, but the exact treatment duration depends on proper clinical evaluation.
In the meantime you may consider:
• 15–20 minutes of daily sunlight exposure
• Maintaining a balanced diet and good hydration
• Healthy lifestyle habits
Since supplement dose and duration depend on your overall health and lab values, a detailed assessment is recommended.
You may consider an online consultation for proper evaluation and a personalized treatment plan.
Your Vitamin D level 9.3 ng/mL indicates severe Vitamin D Deficiency, so your ENT doctor prescribed Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU (Vitamin D3) on alternate days for a short period to quickly correct the deficiency. This type of short-term high-dose therapy is commonly used and generally safe when taken for a limited duration.
Taking Vitamin D3 in this way does not usually damage the liver or kidneys, especially when used only for a few weeks as prescribed. Your Geographic Tongue is a benign condition and sometimes can be associated with nutritional deficiencies like Vitamin B or Vitamin D, but it is not a sign of liver or kidney damage.
Next Steps
• Since you have already completed the prescribed course (16 Feb to 2 Mar), no additional high-dose Vitamin D is needed right now unless advised.
• After about 6–8 weeks from starting treatment, repeat your Vitamin D blood test to check improvement.
• A doctor may then recommend a maintenance dose of Vitamin D (for example once monthly or lower daily dose).
• If you are still concerned, simple blood tests like kidney function tests (KFT) and liver function tests (LFT) can reassure you that everything is normal.
Health Tips
• Try to get 15–20 minutes of sunlight exposure most days of the week.
• Include foods like milk, curd, eggs, fish, mushrooms, and fortified foods in your diet.
• Stay well hydrated and maintain a balanced diet, which also supports oral and tongue health.
• Avoid repeatedly taking high-dose Vitamin D without medical advice, as long-term excess can cause problems.
If you’d like, you can book an online consultation and share your blood reports and symptoms, and I can review them with you and guide you on the correct maintenance plan for Vitamin D and your tongue condition.
Your Vitamin D level (9.3 ng/ml) indicates severe Vitamin D deficiency. The treatment your ENT doctor prescribed (Vitamin D3 60,000 IU on alternate days) is a short correction course and is commonly used in severe deficiency.
This dose does not damage the liver or kidneys when taken for a short duration as prescribed. Geographical tongue is unrelated to Vitamin D tablets and is usually a benign tongue condition.
Next Steps
Continue Vitamin D3 60,000 IU once weekly for 6 weeks, then once monthly for 3 months.
It is advisable to check Serum Vitamin D, Calcium, and Vitamin B12 after 8–10 weeks to ensure levels have improved.
Health Tips
Get 15–20 minutes of sunlight exposure daily, preferably morning sunlight, to naturally improve Vitamin D levels.
Include milk, eggs, fish, and fortified foods in your diet. Drink adequate water
