  4. One hand and one foot's ankle swollen.

One hand and one foot's ankle swollen
I saw my dad's one hand swollen like this ..it has pain too since 2days and one of the ankle is swollen too. What could be the possible reasons? Hot and cold compressions didn't work.. the swollen part seems like some fluid filled edema. Kindly suggest something.
