Hi When symptoms return after stopping long-term medication, it usually means your mind is carrying the old patterns of fear and overchecking, even though the medication is gone. OCD and anxiety are not signs of weakness they are signs that your brain’s threat system has been running on high for too long. Weight gain and LFT changes are genuine concerns, and it makes sense why you stopped the medicines. But the return of symptoms doesn’t mean you’re back to zero; it simply means your system needs a new plan that doesn’t harm your physical health. At this stage, the goal is not to restart the same medicines but to explore safer options with your psychiatrist, build a structured routine, and use CBT-based techniques that reduce the intensity of the intrusive loop. Many people in your situation respond well to lifestyle adjustments, reduced-cortisol routines, exposure work, and more liver-friendly medication options. You are not stuck your body is just asking for a different, more balanced approach this time. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

Hello, You have long-standing OCD and anxiety, and it looks like you were on multiple medicines at the same time - benzodiazepines (clonazepam, etizolam) plus two SSRIs (fluvoxamine and paroxetine). This combination can cause weight gain, sedation, and in some people mild LFT elevation, especially when used for many years. Stopping medicines suddenly is why your anxiety has come back severely. OCD usually needs long-term, stable treatment, but with the right medication and right dose, not multiple sedatives. The good news is: There are safer, weight-neutral, liver-friendly options for OCD, and most patients improve very well when treatment is properly adjusted.
Next Steps
1. Restart treatment under supervision -  but with a new plan. Options like sertraline, escitalopram, fluoxetine are usually safer for LFTs. 2. Avoid long-term use of clonazepam/etizolam - they worsen dependence and anxiety in the long run. 3. Get a fresh LFT panel and share it with your psychiatrist. 4. Consider CBT with Exposure- Response Prevention (ERP) -  this is the most effective therapy for OCD. 5. If previous medicines caused weight gain, your doctor can shift you to more tolerable SSRIs or add adjuncts like low-dose aripiprazole if required.
Health Tips
1. Do not restart old medicines on your own. 2. OCD does improve, but treatment must be gradual, consistent, and monitored. 3. Weight gain and LFT issues can be avoided with the right medication choice.
