Numbness of my Dad's Feet

My dad got this wound from an insect bite onthen his leg then he always scratch it and that bite turned into wound but the problem is together with this wound his feet became numb? The doctor gave us a list of medicine good for a week and more but the numbness on my dad's feet getting much bigger the more the days passes by. I hope you can help right away. Thankyou very much
