Severity of the mosquito bite depends on the individual sensitivity to the bite.Prevention is not easy. You can apply a mixture of lidocaine gel and hydrocortisone cream, syrup cetrizine to reduce the itching and rashes.

There are some over the counter...tumeric and calamine based recovery creams which can be used. Avoid anti-inflammatory and anti histamines, until advised by a physician

None of the creams are 100 per cent anti mosquito repellent. Also child's skin is more sensitive to mosquito bites as well as repellent creams
Next Steps
use physical mosquito net. apply calamine lotion for itchy and red skin (as the other doctor pointed)
Health Tips
avoid creams and mosquito repelling fumes as those may trigger future allergic reactions
