No able to smell
Hi Sir/Mam, My father was covid positive 20 days back. After medication we went for RTPCR and the result is negative. Now my father is still not able to smell. Should we take test again and be in isolation. Please suggest. Thank You

1) not need of isolation. But follow covid protocol 2) doesn't need another testing 3) anosmia/ loss of smell is comon post covid and it will come back for sure soon. But it may take some time and it may go upto 3months but not more than that

No need for repeat test ! Smell and taste which are lost during covid infection may take upto a month to return to normal If the patient has completed 14 days of isolation With 4 days of no symptoms or fever the patient is mostly fine

You can take another rtpcr test to rule out any chance of false negative report
