A temperature of 98.3–98.7°F is NORMAL and not fever. Fever is defined as ≥100.4°F (38°C). Heat sensation can occur due to hormonal changes, anxiety, local irritation, or dehydration. Stay well hydrated Wear loose cotton clothing Avoid excessive self-checking of temperature Consult a gynaecologist if you develop burning urination, discharge, itching, or documented fever.

Fever is basically a temperature more than 98F in the morning and a temoerature more than 99.9F in the evening As the day goes on the body naturally increases the temperature , so a fluctuation of around 1F between morning and evening temperature is quite normal. Secondly in females in the pre ovulation period the body also produces a lot of progesterone which also increases the basal body temperature , this can also be misinterpreted as a fever
