Long hours of system work can cause neck and shoulder strain, poor posture, and cervical nerve irritation, which may lead to cervicogenic dizziness, imbalance, or unsteadiness (not room-spinning vertigo). Neck-to-arm pain may indicate posture-related nerve irritation or cervical strain. Also, check Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels.
Next Steps
Every 30–40 mins: stand for 2–3 mins.
Health Tips
Greeva Basti, Abhyanga, Patra Pinda Sweda, and Nasya are effective Ayurvedic treatments for this condition.

Namastey Your symptoms are commonly seen in people with prolonged screen exposure and poor neck posture, especially in individuals doing 8–12 hours of computer or mobile work daily. Persistent neck tightness with pain radiating toward the shoulder or arms may be related to Cervical spondylosis or muscular strain around the cervical spine. The “imbalance” feeling you describe—without true spinning vertigo—can occur due to neck muscle tension, posture-related strain, eye fatigue, and altered neck proprioception (the body’s balance feedback system). The fact that exercises give temporary relief but symptoms return after prolonged screen work strongly suggests that the main trigger is ongoing postural stress rather than a serious neurological issue. Continuous forward-head posture, lack of breaks, and muscle fatigue can lead to chronic tightening of neck and upper back muscles, which may create sensations of heaviness, imbalance, or unsteadiness while walking.
Next Steps
The most important step is correcting your work routine and posture consistently, not just doing exercises occasionally. Ensure your screen is at eye level, avoid bending the neck downward for long periods, and take short stretching breaks every 30–40 minutes during work. Gentle neck mobility exercises, posture correction, and relaxation of shoulder muscles should be continued regularly. Avoid sudden neck jerks, prolonged mobile use while lying down, or sleeping with very high pillows. Since your symptoms are affecting daily comfort and balance, a more structured assessment and rehabilitation approach would be beneficial. Health Tips
Maintain proper ergonomics during work and avoid sitting continuously for long hours. Include daily walking, stretching, and strengthening exercises for the neck and upper back. Ensure adequate sleep and hydration, as muscle fatigue worsens with poor recovery. Reducing continuous screen exposure and maintaining a balanced routine can significantly improve neck-related dizziness and imbalance over time. Thank you
