I recently saw a dermatologist for a mysterious lump on my face that had appeared about 6 months ago. I was told it was 'a pimple' after being seen for a grand total of 2 minutes. Now it should be noted I rarely breakout, with relatively clear skin. Her solution was to cut the lump with an Xacto knife, sans any numbing whatsoever, and to squeeze it. She squeezed and told me that this was a hard lump, with no pus, just blood. She shot a steroid into it, gave me a handful of acne medication samples and set up a checkup for 4 weeks later to see if there was any progress. A week later I've noticed no difference in the lump, but now there is a large scar atop it where she made the incision. I'm worried that this might be more than just a simple pimple and she just made it worse. What should I do? Did this doctor completely ignore this?
