My 2 y.o is sick
Hi! My son who is a 2 y.o boy is suffering from diarrhea his stool Is yellow and very watery. Sometimes, theres more water and less poop. But suddenly his poop turned Soft- yellowish with blood so I gave him erceflora, good bacteria from a drink milk (yakult), banana. then, just this morning his poop turned ou to be smelly, not so soft anymore. Does that mean my son is now healing? Should i try metronidazole for him.

Hi... I understand how stressful it must be to you as a mother when your two year old gets sick. I agree with the other doc that it is most likely a bacterial infection. What matters to me is the state of dehydration. Is the child dull or painful. Have a look if the tongue is moist or no. Give him as much as he desires. Don’t worry if the treatment u take is proper and regular along with plenty of fluids the child should be up and running while troubling u in no time

Your son most likely has a bacterial infection and needs to be treated with an antibiotic. Start Syp Oflox (50mg/5ml): 7.5ml twice daily for 3 days Add Syp Zinconia 5ml once daily for 2 weeks. Give him sips of ORS to prevent dehydration. Avoid yakult or similar brands.
