Mild Gastritis
Dear Doctor!
In my Gastroscopy found mild Gastritis and doctor prescribed Esomeprazole 40mg .doctor suggested to reduce dosage slowly according to comfortabilty.but if I reduce dosage iam feeling discomfort and continuing same since 1 year.Is it safe to continue or any other option?

The symptoms of gastritis are known to recur in >50% of the patients once they stop medications. Change your lifestyle and dietary habits. Increase physical activity, consider brisk walking or jogging if feasible. Avoid smoking, alcohol, junk food, carbonated drinks. Esomeprazole has safety data of more than four decades, yes it is safe and can be taken if your symptoms persist. But as is true for all medications, it should be taken under a doctor's guidance with prescription.
