Mental health related problems
Hello, I’m 23 (male), have had hypothyroidism for 10 years (on Thyronorm 125 mcg), and for 5–6 years I’ve had repetitive thoughts, possibly OCD. I wash hands obsessively (soap 7+ times), avoid common towels, take 2+ hour showers, repeat reading/writing/Quran words, save games multiple times, and clean phone chats often. I feel answerable to imaginary people, sometimes have suicidal thoughts but reject them. I sleep too much, lost focus, feel sad, unmotivated, fear many things (heights, water), avoid socializing, and can’t concentrate long. I don’t laugh at funny things, always feel studies are incomplete, and eat junk food to feel momentary joy. OCD symptoms affect my daily life and mental peace deeply.

Hi It strongly suggest Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with possible features of low mood or dysthymia. The intense compulsions, intrusive thoughts, excessive washing, and mental rituals are all signs of OCD becoming functionally impairing. The emotional exhaustion, over-sleeping, social withdrawal, and loss of joy also point toward an underlying depressive phase. This is not something to wait out or handle alone. OCD is highly treatable with a combination of CBT (Exposure & Response Prevention) and medication. Therapy can help you break the OCD loops and regain emotional clarity and focus. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

It sounds like you're experiencing symptoms of OCD along with low mood, poor concentration, and social withdrawal, all of which are affecting your daily life and mental peace. These symptoms are treatable with a combination of medication (like SSRIs) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention). Your hypothyroidism may also contribute, so proper thyroid control is important. Please consult a psychiatrist help is available, and with the right treatment, recovery is absolutely possible.

The symptoms you’ve described obsessive thoughts and behaviors, low motivation, emotional numbness, fear, and difficulty with focus and social interaction are consistent with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) along with possible signs of depression and anxiety. Please know that this is treatable, and you’re not alone. Therapy especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) can be very effective in managing OCD symptoms. With the right support, you can gradually reduce these distressing thoughts and regain a sense of control and peace in your life.
Next Steps
I would strongly recommend beginning therapy sessions to start structured work on these patterns. You can consult with me directly through Practo
