I'm anxious constantly. I need something to be calm. I feel restless all the time. Last year I gave up alcohol and weed. It maybe withdrawal but I'm just unable to cope up with soberhood. I need something to keep me less anxious cause I'm a student. It's getting hard to concentrate on anything.
Please suggest me pills to help me. Here the chemist shops aren't giving me pills without any prescription.

"Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, YOU ARE NOT THE RAIN.” — Matt Haig
Hi
You are often feeling anxious and you want to feel calm. You feel you are not able to cope with being sober. You can consult a psychologist to manage anxiety. If you are feeling extremely anxious you can consult a psychiatrist.
Your concern is you are not able to cope with being sober and you want to feel calm. A psychologist will guide you on how you can stay calm during sobriety. Be positive that you can feel calm during sobriety.
Psychiatric medicines will. Not be sold across the counter.
You can overcome this issue by few counselling sessions without medicines..
Consult a psychological Counselor..
Hi, I understand that you are struggling with anxiety and feel restless.
As you rightly pointed out, it can be withdrawal, especially because it was your coping mechanism and now the body and mind don't have an alternative to calm down.
For anxiety, feel free to try:
1. Deep breathing exercises (guided practices available on YouTube)
2. Grounding techniques right before or during panic
3. Yoga/ tai chi
4. Journaling your thoughts and fears
5. Reaching out to a trusted adult
6. Consistent sleep wake routine
7. A healthy balanced and nutritious diet
8. Check your vit D/ vit b12 levels
9. Counseling/ psychotherapy with a psychologist
10. Medication from a psychiatrist (if need be)
Sometimes, sitting with your anxiety, feeling it and letting it gradually pass can also work wonders.

Health Tips
Please do not self diagnose and do not self medicate. Medicines should only be prescribed by a licensed medical doctor.
Hi... Pills or psychiatric medications are to be consumed only under medical supervision. These are not to be mistaken as paracetamol tablets. Please consult a Psychiatrist if you are seeking treatment through medication. Although psychotherapy/counselling works much better in such cases. De-addiction centres are also an option.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist.
CBT along with Lifestyle Guidance and Motivational Counselling is required.
Withdraw symptoms do not appear after a year of leaving the substance. What you are feeling are symptoms of anxiety which will require a proper diagnosis from an RCI Licensed Clinical Psychologist. The reason being, there are various types of anxiety disorders which can be diagnosed. And from your description, I do not have the clarity of the kind of anxiety disorder that you are experiencing. Taking a pill for anxiety will help but seeing a psychologist will take you a longer way in terms of treatment.
Next Steps
But if you are not open to seeking professional help then there are a few things you can try apart from taking a pill: 1) Include deep breathing exercises in you everyday routine. Like practising box breathing (google it). 2) Read-up about Mindfulness practice and do it every time you start feeling anxious. FOR STUDYING: 3) Practice deep breathing especially before studying. You could also play some music that helps you concentrate. You could also light a scented candle or incense sticks. Make your environment distraction free. Set specific goals for studying because clarity is very important for focusing. (Sometimes when we don't understand the topic it makes us anxious and that in turn makes us procrastinate, so try to make sure you gain deep understanding of the topic that you are studying and you could use various free resources for it like Google or YouTube.)
Health Tips
It is very important to understand the source of your anxiety in order to deal with it. Warm Regards, Hope this helps!
Hi
If you confidently feel like anxiety is because of alcohol withdrawal. Be clear with it.
Timeline of Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms
The symptoms of alcohol withdrawal can range from mild to serious. What yours are depends on how much you drank and for how long.
6 hours after you stop drinking: Mild symptoms can start as early as 6 hours after you put down your glass. They can include:
Anxiety
Shaky hands
Headache
Nausea
Vomiting
Insomnia
Sweating
12-48 hours after your last drink: More serious problems, including hallucinations, can start in this timeframe and may include hallucinations (about 12-24 hours after you stop drinking) and seizures within the first 2 days after you stop. You can see, feel, or hear things that aren't there. Learn more about the timeline of alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
48-72 hours after you stop drinking: Delirium tremens, or DTs as you’re likely to hear them called, usually start in this timeframe. These are severe symptoms that include vivid hallucinations and delusions. Only about 5% of people with alcohol withdrawal have them. Those that do may also have:
Confusion
Racing heart
High blood pressure
Fever
Heavy sweating
