Lymphoma 8yo boy?
My son has had a lrg painless cervical lymph node for several months. About 3 months ago his tonsils also enlarged to the point his voice is muffled and he has trouble breathing/sleeping - no known infection, no pain. He's now 40lbs. US revealed several abnormal lymph nodes, the largest being 2.3cm. Cbc shows high platelets, Wbc (16k), monos, basos, neutros, & eos + decreased lymphocytes, mchc, & mch. The lymph nodes are growing. We have a tonsillectomy scheduled. Will that cure him??

If there are significant multiple lymph nodes with tonsillar enlargement then lymph node biopsy is mandatory before tonsillectomy. Tonsillectomy in such cases is done only if lymph node biopsy does not confirm the diagnosis
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
