Lumps on pharyngeal arch
Doctor, I smoked for about five years. In 2023, I noticed a small lump on my pharyngeal arch. I consulted an ENT doctor, who prescribed Sporlac powder, and that lump disappeared. For the past 10 months, I have developed three small lumps on one side of my pharyngeal arch and two lumps on the other side. These lumps are not painful, not bleeding, and I do not have any difficulty in swallowing. In addition, I have multiple small white dots on my soft palate, with red-colored veins around them. I also have a habit of eating very spicy food, often late at night, and for the past three years I have mostly eaten spicy foods and rarely soft foods. These findings are causing me significant health anxiety, and I keep checking my symptoms daily on Google. I would like to know what these lumps and white dots are and whether they are benign or need further evaluation.” Asap please reach out to me

The lumps looks like minor salivary glands or lymphoid tissue on the soft palate. Possibly due to smoking and constant irritation. As the is no pain, increase in size, ulcer or whitish discoloration, or bleeding there is no signs of cancer as of now. If any of the above mentioned symptoms are there then u may need a proper physical examination and if needed biopsy from the site. No need to be afraid now
Next Steps
If you are still smoking would suggest you to cut down and stop it. Do not constantly keep checking on the internet - to avoid anxiety
Health Tips
maintain oral hygiene, can add probiotics, anti inflammatory and antioxidants to reduce inflammation

Those lumps appear as normal mucosal folds, as long as there is no pain or trouble in swallowing. Even the blood vessels appearing that way are normal Avoid eating spicy and oily food also avoid tea and coffee Granular pharyngitis sometimes appear like this If you feel the lump is increasing in size giving you discomfort or pain you need to consult an ENT specialist

From your history and the photo, these small, symmetrical lumps and white dots on the soft palate are most likely benign lymphoid tissue / minor salivary gland openings, commonly seen with chronic irritation from smoking, spicy food, acid reflux, or repeated throat clearing. The absence of pain, bleeding, ulceration, difficulty swallowing, or rapid growth is reassuring and not suggestive of cancer at present
Next Steps
if you notice increase in size, ulceration, bleeding, persistent pain, voice change, or difficulty swallowing, or if lesions do not regress over follow-up, a direct ENT examination ± endoscopy can be done for confirmation. At present, this appears benign and manageable, and there is no emergency.
Health Tips
repeatedly checking online can increase fear. The first step is lifestyle modification that complete smoking cessation, reducing very spicy late night meals, good oral hygiene, and reflux control. can observe these lesions for now.
