Lump in neck
I am having a painless
lump in neck below the jaw more than one inch long since 4 weeks. It is hard and immovable and i think it has grown a little also. I consulted a physician who said it is due to infection by swelling of gland and recommended medicine for same for 5 days. In 5 days it has shown little improvement but again it has grown to same size.

It may be swelling of parotid gland or thyroid gland.or enlargement of lymph node due to infection.

Reactive (infective) lymph nodes are usually tender, soft, and mobile and tend to reduce steadily with treatment. The behavior you describe suggests that further testing is necessary.like cbc
