First, evaluate for the reasons for low milk supply. Please consult a pediatrician or lactation consultant.
Formula milk is ok but not never as good as breastmilk.
Nothing is equivalent to breast milk.but since you are only one month postpartum, kindly consult a lactation specialist and try to follow steps to increase breastmilk flow as it will definitely improve
Breast milk is considered as superior source of nutrition to baby compared to formula.
Here are the tips to improve your breast milk supply
1.Positive attitude and reduction of stress
2.Adequate hydration
3.Green leafy vegetables and high protein diet like eggs and meat.
Yes child will grow on formula milk infact much better than breast fed children
But formula causes high gmo exposure, increased risk of infections,Asthma and Type 2 diabetes in later life.
1) ask your obgyn or lactation counseller to examine breast to rule out flat/retracted nipple
2) as a nursing mother you need all the emotional support, so do not people to get into ur head who complains about silly things
3) mother should eat good nutrition food and adequate hydration
4) learn breast feeding technique if we do not follow the technique newborn gets tired n stop feeding
5) feed more frequently , especially in the night which helps in milk production
6) make sure as new mother you spend as much as time with your new born. Baby touch, cry helps in releasing certain hormones that helps with milk profuction
7) always remember breast milk is best as benefits in mother n baby
You need lactation counseling. There can be nipple issues, stress, dietary deficiencies, latching issues.
Physical examination and counseling is recommended.
