We are feeding my 83 year old father liquids and meds through a nose tube and semi solid food through his mouth. For the past 8 days he has had hiccups and now he is getting a fever. The tube will not be remove anytime soon because he chokes when swallowing liquids. Please advise what we should do.

He seems to be having neurological problem for which he is been fed with ryles tube. Irritation of muscle known as diaphragm causes intractable hiccups which also can be neurological origin or sometimes can occur because of acidity. You should consult a neurologist
Next Steps
Consult nearby neurologist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
