Lip licking and dryness

I have a bad habit of lip licking which causes my lip to be dried all the time. It is since many years. Please suggest how to get rid of this. Can lip licking for prolonged time cause cancer?

This is called lip lick chelitis. The frequent licking is wiping away the essential moisturizers of your lips.
