Leg Fracture
My boyfriend broke his leg on April 13. He's 30 years old. His leg had an open wound which was stitched closed. His doctor waited for the inflammation to go down after almost two weeks then pulled the leg to realign the bones then the leg was put on a cast. On May 5th, his x-ray showed that the tibia was aligned with 5 degrees of displacement (as per doctor's advice) but the fibula didn't appear to be aligned at all. Please help us with an advice on what to do next. Thank you very much.

The fibula alignment depends on how high up the fibula the fracture is. If the Fracture is higher up the fibula, then as Long as the tibia is well aligned there should be no issue. If you upload some x-rays then better advice can be given. The fracture can take anything up to 12 weeks to heal. Even after that there will be need for significant amount of physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Hope this helps.

Does he has pain in his leg. Does he has any difficulty in walking. If yes, then you should consult an orthopedic with xray to realign it. Otherwise you can see a physiotherapist also as manupulation and mobilisation technique can even help which is done by physiotherapist only.
