My mother has been suffering from left leg knee pain from 2-3 months, pain get worsens if she bends her knee and sits for around 30 min or more. We consulted few doctors but none gave fruitful result. XRay was done and doctor suggested for knee replacement as bone has become weak, while other doctor suggested physiotherapy is remedy. So I'm bit confused, please suggest and I have attached x-rays for reference.
Thanks,
Bharath

X ray shows early Arthritis, you can do regular hot water Formentation NSAIDs stretching and strengthening excercise, knee replacement surgery on this x ray is not advisable unless too much of ligament instability is there.

Good afternoon, she had pain for 3 months. I presume there was no injury and she is fit and healthy. If it is standing x rays there is only mild arthritis. If it is not please get one AP view standing X Ray. If you not tried other modalities of treatment please try that first before considering for knee replacement. Other modalities include, pain killers, quads exercise, knee braces, steroid injection, hyaluronidase injection and arthroscopic debridement. Usually these will help for some to many years.
Dear,
this problem is known as Osteoarthritis of knee joint. It is not severely damage as per the xray reports. pain can be controlled by Muscle strength building exercises and weight loss management. consult any good physiotherapist near you.
