Spine surgeries have good results nowadays with both open and endoscopic(better) procedures.
Outcome depends on patients preoperative conditions and how long and severe she's experiencing the symptoms. side effects as well depend on these factors such as temporary tinglimg and numbmess after surgery, reappearing symptoms after some months/years, etc. side effects are minimum based on how good the surgeon is and patient preop condition.
Consult Nearest Orthopedic spine surgeon to discuss further.
Next Steps
Consult Orthopedic spine specialist.
Follow your doctors advise to word.
Recovery totally depends on the condition of the patient before surgery. If the patient was walking before surgery and if the surgery is done properly then very mild risk of any complications/side effects will be there. Most of the patients get back to normalcy after surgery even at 60 years of age
Get physical check up and share report
After that risk factor will be identified
Share your mri to know severity of condition
Discussion of your problem with operating surgeon. Every surgeon has different method and facility
