Kidney stone
My mother has a 7.4 mm stone in left kidney. We consulted with a surgeon and suggested some medicines. She has been taking the medicine for one month. Now she has mild pain in the back and joint pain. What should we do please suggest. Is surgery needed for this stone ?

Although it is a small stone one has to see whether it is causing symptoms and whether there is swelling seen in the kidney ( hydronephrosis) ok the ultrasound to see if the stone is obstructive or not. Those stone causing symptoms and swelling in the kidney need to be dealt with surgically.
