You need to get some investigations done to know the cause for this.. There are variable reasons for knee swelling and pain in major joints.. Loss of thigh muscles may be associated with some chronic issue.. may be infective or inflammatory etiology.. Are you able to stand and walk by self or you have to use some support.. How has this started. Was there any injury in knee.. Is there any fever as well..
Next Steps
You need to be examined and gather more details about the condition to arrive at a diagnosis.. You may require certain blood investigations and radiological investigations like X ray, MRI after clinical examination..
Health Tips
Apply crepe bandage over knee for support.. Try doing exercises of knee and hip if possible..
