Punarnavadi mandoor could cause constipation in few individuals as it contains iron as an ingredient. You should take fibre rich diet( fruit, vegetables, cereals) and drink lot of water to manage constipation.

Punarnava Mandoor is a good Ayurvedic iron preparation, but in some patients it may cause mild constipation. What you can do: 1. Manage Constipation: Take Triphala churna 3–5 gm at bedtime with lukewarm water. You can also add Gandharva Haritaki churna (mild dose) if constipation persists Ensure adequate hydration (2.5–3 liters/day) 2. Better Iron Absorption with Less Constipation: Continue iron medicine with proper Anupan (vehicle) like buttermilk or warm water depending on digestion In some cases, Navayasa Lauh or Dhatri Lauh can be better tolerated (consult before switching) 3. Diet Advice (Very Important): Increase fibre-rich diet: daliya, green leafy vegetables, fruits (papaya, anjeer) Include iron-rich foods: beetroot, pomegranate, jaggery, black raisins Avoid excessive tea/coffee with meals (reduces iron absorption) 4. Lifestyle: Regular walking/yoga helps bowel movement Maintain proper sleep cycle 👉 With proper diet + mild bowel regulation, you can continue iron therapy without discomfort. 📞 For personalized treatment and selection of the most suitable iron preparation as per your Prakriti and digestion, consult directly.

Namastey Both Vidangadi Lauh and Punarnavadi Mandoor are classical preparations used for improving hemoglobin, digestion, and reducing associated symptoms like weakness or inflammation. However, due to their Lauh (iron) content and Ruksha (drying) nature, they may sometimes cause constipation, especially in individuals with a Vata-predominant constitution or sensitive digestion. Before switching to another iron preparation, it is important to understand that the constipation is not necessarily due to the medicine alone, but also due to gut sensitivity, hydration, and diet pattern. Simply changing tablets without addressing these factors may not completely solve the issue. Different iron preparations (Ayurvedic or modern) can have varying tolerability, but selection should always be individualized based on your digestion (Agni), bowel pattern, and the underlying cause for which iron was prescribed.
Next Steps
Instead of self-changing the iron tablet, it is advisable to discuss this side effect with your treating doctor so that the formulation or its mode of intake can be adjusted according to your body type. Often, simple modifications in how and when the medicine is taken can significantly reduce constipation. A more personalized approach will help you continue treatment effectively without discomfort. For detailed guidance and to tailor the treatment as per your digestive pattern and symptoms, you may connect with us at 9 3 1 5 6 6 1 5 6 5, where we can assist you in a professional and structured manner.
Health Tips
To reduce constipation, ensure adequate hydration throughout the day and include fiber-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet. Adding a small amount of ghee to your meals can help counteract dryness and improve bowel movement as per Ayurvedic principles. Maintain a regular eating schedule and avoid very dry, processed, or heavy-to-digest foods. Light physical activity like walking also helps improve digestion and bowel regularity. With the right balance of medicine and lifestyle, you can continue your treatment comfortably without needing to discontinue beneficial formulations. Thank you

you have not mentioned why you want to take iron tablets? Is there any symptoms by which you think you have iron deficiency? First you should see your iron level in your body by your blood reports..and then if it is low then you should start medicine for it. Otherwise no need to take iron tablets.

Navayas Lauh – gentler on digestion, good for anaemia with PCOD Dhatri Lauh – iron with amla base, easy on stomach and bowels Tapyadi Lauh – if there is weakness along with anaemia To ease constipation with current medicine, doctors usually suggest: Take it with honey + warm water or triphala churna at night Increase water intake Eat more fruits and vegetables

Iron preparations like Punarnavadi Mandoor can sometimes cause constipation depending on your digestion. Instead of changing tablets on your own, the formulation and dose should be adjusted as per your Agni. Mild constipation can be managed with diet or supportive medicines. Please consult me so I can guide the right iron preparation suitable for you.
