The Best way to manage type 1 diabetes is by DAFNE. Most European countries follow this. DAFNE means Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating. It's almost impossible to get perfect control good control in type 1 diabetes. Otherwise they suffer frequent too low sugars or high sugars

Hi you are a young man . you diabetic could either be type 1 or genetic , cant be both. Type 1 diabetes is spontaneous and not genetic in origin. If yours is type 1 indeed, then you will be needing insulin all the time as you will be insulin deficient. There is no place for oral medications in such cases. As far as IME 9 is concerned, I have come across this medication only in India and that too on TV advertisement only. So I wont be suggesting anyone not to take it, but you need to ensure that this the right for you.
