🔹 Safe First-Line BP Medicines Commonly Used Option 1: Telmisartan 20 mg once daily Very commonly used starter medicine Controls BP for 24 hrs You have taken Telvas 40 earlier, so you tolerate telmisartan well Option 2: Amlodipine 5 mg once daily Good for quick BP control Can cause slight ankle swelling in some people Option 3: Telmisartan 40 mg once daily If you used this earlier with good control, you can restart it Works well for long-term control

Ok we'll need to discuss further before starting medication. Like your lifestyle and other things. Book an appointment for video consultation. Have a nice day.

Please provide details- do you have any problem like  headache, palpitations,  breathlessness  on walking, diabetes, etc? Otherwise you have mild hypertension,  which can be corrected by life style measures. Take salt , restricted,  fat free diet, avoid stress, avoid alcohol, do regular physical exercise,  some pranayam. Get blood sugarHba1c, lipid profile tested and share results.  Get b.p. checked after a month of following life style measures.

Hi, I understand your concern, but we don’t start BP medicine based on a single 140/90 reading. Please check your BP twice daily for a few days and share the readings. If it stays high, we’ll decide further. For more help, you can consult me on Practo anytime.
