PCOS is far more than a reproductive issue; it is a complex metabolic and endocrine disorder. The weight gain you are experiencing is primarily driven by Insulin Resistance, which causes your body to store fat more easily and makes losing it very difficult. Furthermore, the hormonal imbalances (high androgens and low progesterone) directly impact your brain's neurotransmitters, which explains the 'brain fog,' intrusive thoughts, and sleep disturbances. Your symptoms are not a lack of willpower; they are a physiological response to a systemic hormonal 'mismatch' that needs a structured, multi-pronged management plan
Next Steps
To review your lab results and discuss whether you need insulin-sensitizing medication like Metformin or a targeted plan for your intrusive thoughts, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."

PCOS affect sleep, mood, energy levels and weight, so what you are experiencing is quite common and manageable with the right approach. It’s important to first assess factors like insulin resistance, thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies, stress and lifestyle patterns rather than starting things blindly. Please consult with me once I’ll guide you regarding the most suitable supplements, lifestyle plan and whether any tests or medicines are needed for better long term control.

PCOD can affect sleep, mood, weight and energy levels due to hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance, so your symptoms are quite common. Along with lifestyle changes (daily exercise, weight control, good sleep routine, high-protein/low refined sugar diet), some supplements that may help are: * Myo-inositol + D-chiro inositol * Vitamin D (if deficient) * Omega-3 * Magnesium (sometimes helps sleep/stress) But before starting supplements blindly, it’s better to consult a gynecologist/endocrinologist and get tests like TSH, Vitamin D, B12, HbA1c/sugar, and hormones checked. Also, intrusive thoughts, poor sleep and mood symptoms should not be ignored — mental health support/counselling can help a lot along with PCOD treatment.
