Hi Guduchi or Giloy and Ashwagandha are helpful to improve immune system and both can be used together and both are very common in India, specially during this pandemic time. Giloy has been found helpful against infections. Ashwagandha not only improves immune system, but also helpful in improving strength also. Since these are herbs, so try to buy these from any reputed brand. As cheap brands may have quality control issue. So far your problem is concerned, there is no any scientific evidence found against Giloy and Ashwagandha in this issue. So far your son is concerned, if he is suffering from hypothyroidism or high blood pressure, please avoid. Otherwise he can also have. Before buying Giloy or Ashwagandha or combination of these herbs, you can show the snapshot of list of ingredients. Hmnn, now question of  excess weight of your son. There is a requirement of scientific diet prepared by a Dietitian, regular followups with a dietitian along with regular cardio exercises. Your son will have to be under the guidance of your Dietitian for some time to see effective results.
