Today i took my lipid profile test after 12 hrs of fasting And it shows high tryglycerides 242 what to do to lower it

Do you have diabetes or hypothyroidism? Is this your first lipid profile test or had you done it before? Whats your cholesterol and LDL levels? Initially you need lifestyle modification like decreasing intake of saturated fats,sugars,stop smoking, alcohol If still not controlled we can go for medications

High triglycerides can be due to extra sugars, ghee, alcohol the previous meal. Diabetes n thyroid disorders can also increase triglycerides so you should get your FBS and TSH tested too

Hi You need to do therapeutic lifestyle changes -Saturated fat less than 7% of total calorie intake ( ghee, butter, cheese) -Cholesterol < 200mg per day -Total dietary fat < 30% Of total calories -Poly unsaturated fats < 10% ( oils ) -Trans fat 0 - Increase fibre intake - Water intake 4-5 litres/ day - Increased planned physical activity - Incase of smoking/ alcohol stop it completely And after following this strictly repeat the test after 6 weeks
