High pdw high p-lcr and high mpv
My mother is 63 years old and has been having shortness of breath on walking ,headache ,chest heaviness occasionally and extreme fatigue . She sometimes coughs up blood (only sometimes in months )..she is hypertensive and has been taking telma -h from last 10 years . She sometimes misses her medications. The blood report shows Pdw: 15.3 , MPV-14.1, and P-LCR : 56.2. MCH: 26.1, MCHC: 30.5, PCV: 33.4, erythrocyte count: 3.92, absolutel eosinophils:0.47, absolute basophil: 0.00, Hb is 10.2. Her TLC/WBC is within normal range (7.85)and platelet count is 220. Kindly suggest proper diagnosis and way ahead. We are all very worried. Thanku

Take your mother to a cardiologist. She needs physical examination . Online consultation won't help.

Your mother needs to be evaluated for heart disease by ECG/2D-ECHO/Stress Test And her BP control needs to be monitored at regular intervals.you can buy a home bp machine(automatic) and measure her bp daily to see if her bp is under control or not with Telma Secondly she is suffering from Iron deficiency anemia which also causes shortness of breath and fatigue… so you can ask her to increase intake of iron rich food like chicken liver,spinach,jaggery,nuts,dates,vit C supplements and if no relief,then she can start on OTC iron supplements. And I hope she is taking Calcium supplements too considering her age Thanks Regards Dr Shweta J Ram
