High fever and memory loss
I had a high fever of 103.6 a day back. Accompanied by loose motions. Fever subsided after 24 hr rest and the only medication I took was 2 crocins. It's been a day and I figure that I have some problem remembering names or long strings of characters which I knew. I thought I was overthinking but it's been happening to me whole day now where I can not recall a name of person or thing I am talking about. Is it normal ? Can someone help me understand how this is happening?

Hi, Sometimes it happens after a high grade fever but it is for a very short period of time also called as thought block but once patient recovers everything becomes normal again but to help you and make you understand I will  give you more details. Reversible conditions can be caused by a high grade fever, dehydration , vitamin deficiency and bad reactions to medicines, or a minor head injuries. Tests of blood and urine may be done to help find any problems. There are also tests of mental abilities (tests of memory, problem solving). A brain imaging may help for curable disorder. If the problem is serious, then a thorough physical, neurological, and psychiatric evaluation may be recommended.
